Wildfires swept through Southeast Georgia starting in Waycross/Manor wood by a lighting strike one spring afteroon around 2pm. They worked their way south into the Okeefenokee Swamp as far as Folkston Georgia and beyond. The firefighters and volunteers worked long, hard hours and days for month on end to gain control and subdue these disasteres fires. All though may people lost a great deal of material possessions, many homes, lifes, and family pets were miraculiously spared.
